NOMEX COVERALL
Nomex IIIA aramid is a permanently, inherently flame resistant and anti-static fiber blend with a unique molecular structure consisting of 93% Nomex, 5% Kevlar and 2% static dissipative fiber. Weighing only 4.5 oz per square yard (Or 150 gsm) for lightweight comfort, garments made of NOMEX IIIA like coveralls, shirt & pants will not burn in air, melt, drip or break open and act as a protective barrier when exposed to intense heat, flash fires or electric arcs. As Nomex IIIA dissipates electrical charges from fabric to fabric and fabric to surface rubbing, it provides an extra level of comfort against nuisance static, however the only way to protect against other likely sources of sparking is by grounding. Nomex IIIA fiber blends have good resistance to many chemicals such as organics, acids and bases, but are not designed to protect the wearer against molten chemicals or in critical static control operations. NOMEX IIIA is widely recognized as a premier fabric providing protection against possible exposure to flame or arc with applications in petrochemicals, utilities, military, auto racing and firefighting. Nomex is inherently flame resistant and this property cannot be degraded by laundering. NOMEX IIIA coveralls Made from Dupont are the protection required for industrial flash fires. The aramid fibers used in Nomex coveralls garment construction provide superior flame resistance. The fibers will not melt, burn, drip or support combustion in air. Garments of NOMEX aramid fiber have been used for more than 30 years for protection against fire related personal injury. During this time, the line of Nomex coveralls and related Nomex apparel have been expanded and improved to include products made from fiber blends, such as blends of NOMEXî with KEVLAR and static-dissipative fibers. The family of NOMEX aramid fibers include: - NOMEXî III Coveralls, a blend of NOMEX and KEVLAR in the composition of; 93% Nomex + 5% Kevlar + 2% P140; - NOMEX IIIA, a blend of NOMEX, KEVLAR and a static dissipative fiber; and Finished garments of NOMEX are inherently flame resistant. No laundering procedures are known to remove the flame resistance of Nomex Coveralls. However, thermal protection can be compromised by the presence of flammable contaminants on the garment, or on the fabric from which it is made. Even though garments of NOMEX are inherently flame resistant, flammable contaminants on the garments can ignite and burn until consumed, thus increasing heat transfer to the wearer. Nomex Coveralls have a far better performance in comparison with other cotton Flame Retardant garments as it has better flammability performance, higher strengths thereby longer life of the garments and lighter in weight. Applications: Nomex Coveralls are used in Oil & Gas industries as station wears, in Steel Industries, Electricals, metal, minings, utilities, military applications as well as auto racing, voluntary & professional fire fighters.
